WH: Diwali Lunchtime Activities
WHAT HAPPENS DURING DIWALI?
Diwali, the Indian "festival of lights," is a holiday that signifies the triumph of good over evil. This year, we celebrate Diwali at Walnut Heights on November 9.
During this festive occasion, clay lamps known as "diyas" are lit to symbolize the victory of good over evil. Students will have the opportunity to craft and design their own Diyas.
Additionally, Rangoli, an intricate Indian art form, will be on display. Students can participate by creating geometric designs on the floor using colored sand, petals, flour, or even rice. We will also have a community Rangoli that they can help decorate. This cherished tradition welcomes friends and family into their homes during Diwali.
Moreover, our students can look forward to interactive dance performances and lively Bollywood music. Join us to revel in the festivities, capture the vibrant art, and immerse yourself in the colors of Walnut Heights this season!
