What is the Gala?
The gala is a do-not-miss dinner, dancing, and fundraising extravaganza that will take place on the evening of Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 5PM-10PM. It will include appetizers, dinner, a silent and live auction, music, dancing, formal attire, and much more. You will also have the opportunity to sign up for Parent Parties that occur throughout the year, which are a community building tradition at Walnut Heights. Only those who purchase tickets can attend the gala.
The theme for this year’s gala is French Riviera. Expect spritzes, sunshine, and effortless seaside glamour inspired by the sparkling Côte d’Azur. Dress chic, sip something citrusy, and enjoy a night that feels like a spring escape to the Mediterranean. Let’s celebrate in true Riviera style! Santé to an unforgettable spring soirée!
Tickets are non-refundable, though you’re welcome to transfer or sell your ticket if needed. Once a ticket has been sold, simply send the new guest’s name to donations.wh@gmail.com so we can update our guest list.
What is the Online Auction?
There will be hundreds of items to bid on at the online auction, which will take place before the gala on April 17-24, 2026. The Auction Committee is collecting contributions from the community to include in the online auction. We are looking for gift cards, experiences, bottles of wine, accommodations for getaways, gift baskets, sporting event tickets, art, concert tickets--you name it, we'll take it! If you have something to donate, please email the Auction Committee (donations.wh@gmail.com).
Please know that anyone can bid at the online auction and you do not need to have kids at the school to snag some of the incredible items. Simply register in advance and we will keep you updated!
How can I attend the Gala and participate in the Online Auction?
Gala tickets will go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Important! You can choose to download and use the Handbid app or use your standard browser. Additionally, the email address associated with your gala ticket must be the same email address you use to register for a Handbid account to bid in the online auction.
What can I do when the Online Auction opens in April?
~Browse and Bid: Explore a variety of amazing items, experiences, and services generously donated by our community. There will be something for everyone.
~Place Your Bid: It is simple to participate. Browse through the categories, select your favorites, and place your bids. Keep an eye on your favorites and make sure you don't get outbid.
~Support Our School: All proceeds from the online auction go directly to supporting programs, classroom resources, and enrichment opportunities for our children.
What do I need to know about the Gala ticket tiers?
This year's gala ticket prices will be similar to a sliding scale as there will be three ticket tiers to choose from. It takes a lot to put on the gala and historically the cost of each ticket has been subsidized by the PTA. This year two of the ticket tiers will continue to have a PTA subsidy, while the third tier will not be subsidized. It costs approximately $130/person to host the gala, and we understand that not everyone is in a position to pay the unsubsidized price. Each ticket tier will have the same experience, so please pay the tier that works for you and come have some fun with us!
Can we help our Walnut Heights teachers and staff attend the Gala?
Yes! We love it when our incredible Walnut Heights teachers and staff join us at the gala. The PTA does not charge them to attend, so we are looking for "angel gifts" to help offset their tickets, which cost $130/person. Please contribute as much as you can.
Do you need sponsors for the Online Auction/Gala event?
If your company or employer is interested in supporting a local public school by sponsoring our gala and/or online auction, then email the Auction Committee for more information (donations.wh@gmail.com).
What are the Parent Parties?
The Parent Parties are an opportunity to build community and raise money for the school. Each party is planned and hosted by a handful of families who band together to choose a date and fun theme, while partygoers pay a fee to the PTA to attend. It's a win-win for everyone - community, fun, and funds for the school!
