The Read-a-thon is a fundraising event where our students commit to reading as a means of raising money for our school. Read-a-thons promote literacy and a love of reading in children and offer an academic challenge the kids enjoy. We strive to get parents excited about the Read-a-thon, as it's a healthy fundraiser with no product sales requirements. With Read-a-thons, kids aren't spending time fundraising instead of studying or learning; instead, learning is key!

The Fun Run puts the FUN in fundraising! At this event, held each spring, students run laps around the grass field, cheered on by families, teachers, and our fundraising partners from Boosterthon. We hold a pep rally one week before the Fun Run to get students excited and kick off fundraising for the event.
The Fun Run is a great way for students to be active and for families to support Walnut Heights!
Please consider donating to the WH PTA Annual Fund. This year, we’re asking for families to donate $100 per student. The WH PTA Annual Fund enables the PTA to supplement site programs and resources, beyond what the state of California provides, such as: classroom Chromebooks, library books, art materials, playground equipment, supplemental teacher supplies, science and lab equipment, staff development, class enrichment and much, much more. Thank you for supporting the students at Walnut Heights!
Many companies double or even triple donations to Walnut Heights! Contact your employer's HR department to find out if your employer matches donations. It usually takes less than five minutes to fill out the necessary forms and it makes a huge difference for our students, our school, and our community.

The Walnut Heights PTA's largest fundraiser is our annual auction. It consists of a fun social gathering with dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions, as well as an online auction. Last year, we made over $80,000 used to fund essential elements of the curriculum including technology supplies, classroom collaboration, science and library materials, playground improvements, books on curriculum topics at a variety of reading levels, staff development, the nature area and music and art supplies. Please consider joining us on St. Patrick’s weekend!
